Using Diffward

Diffward provides tools for reviewing changes in software projects. You may use the website and extension only in compliance with these terms and applicable law. You are responsible for your workspace, repositories, credentials, backups, model-provider settings, and decisions about whether to keep or discard code changes.

Permission to use the service

Subject to these terms and the license distributed with the extension, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use Diffward for its intended purpose. This permission does not transfer ownership of Diffward or any related intellectual property to you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Diffward to break the law or violate another person’s rights.
• Attempt to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the website, extension distribution, or related systems.
• Remove proprietary notices or misrepresent your relationship with Diffward.
• Use automated means to burden or scrape the website in a way that interferes with other users.

Your code and content

You retain all rights in the code and content in your workspace. Diffward’s processing of that material does not give us ownership of it. You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to use and modify the repositories and agent transcripts you make available to Diffward.

Optional third-party models

If you enable model-backed classification, information is sent to the model provider you select. You are responsible for your provider account, API key, charges, configuration, and compliance with that provider’s terms. Diffward does not control the provider’s availability, output, or handling of information.

Beta software and changes

Diffward may be offered as beta or pre-release software. Features may be incomplete, change, or stop working. We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of Diffward and may revise these terms by posting an updated version with a new effective date.

Third-party services

Diffward works with tools and services we do not control, including VS Code, Git, coding agents, model providers, and the Visual Studio Marketplace. Your use of those products is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party products, content, or services.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Diffward is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that Diffward will identify every change, attribution, risk, or issue, or that it will always be available or error-free. Diffward is a review aid, not a substitute for your own testing, security review, backups, or professional judgment.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Diffward and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from your use of—or inability to use—Diffward. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Termination

You may stop using Diffward at any time. We may restrict or terminate access if you materially violate these terms, create risk or legal exposure, or misuse the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
